With in-house engineering Universal Grinding & Tool Service has the ability to design custom carbide tipped cutting tools based on piece part drawings or to meet your special job needs. For over 50 years Universal Grinding has developed and manufactured Carbide Tipped tools for the Hydraulic industry. Our tools are all cutter ground which Increases the life of your cutters, is a freer cutting tool, & produces better surface finish than many of our competitors. All of your tools are custom made per order with approx. a 3 week turnaround. Expediting is available if possible with no added fees. We also sharpen and recondition your current step reamers. All tool diameters are cylindrically ground CNC ground steps with clearance to suit material being machined Tool prints provided with job orders  Manufacture Custom tools are designed to meet your special cutting tool needs (Carbide Tipped Step Reamers, Port Cutters, Profile Cutters, Tool Bits, etc.)  Design Tools can be designed by our in house engineer  from piece part prints  Body Material    Carbide C-2 Micrograin carbide (other grades available)  Coolant Holes  Coolant holes can be added to your tools  Heat Treating Heat treated 0-1 or M-2 tool steel  Quality    Inspection Reports Reports can be provided on individual tools upon your request Tolerances Tolerances can be held within .0002 when needed  Coating For a list of available coatings click here
